Entry Requirements

  • We normally require a second class honours degree (2:1) or above in an appropriate subject
  • We will consider applications from students with academic backgrounds in areas including business, sociology and law as well as the arts
  • Candidates with other degrees are welcome to apply provided they can demonstrate appropriate levels of experience.
  • The most commonly accepted evidence of English language ability is IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all four components).

Course Details

The MA Arts Management course focuses on the management and structure of the arts and cultural industries, focusing on the relationship between creativity and management. It includes three compulsory modules and a range of additional modules covering specialist areas of Arts Management. To complete the MA, students must take a 60-credit Independent Project module, which involves producing a research or practical project of considerable depth and complexity. Optional modules are available at levels 5 and 6, but may not be offered on every course. Students will be asked to make their choice during the previous academic year. If an optional module is not offered, the programme will advise students after the selection period or at the earliest time the programme team decides not to run the module and help them choose an alternative module.
