All of this supports you as you learn about contemporary 3D pipelines used in commercial games and film studios.

Our studio facilities are second to none. We have a professionally equipped Motion Capture studio and Green Screen room set up for Virtual Production, suites of digital workstations with latest industry-standard software, overclocked workstations, and a state-of-the-art 3D printing and scanning studio. Additionally, we have Editing Suites and a fully functional Music Recording Studio with a team of specialist technicians to guide you every step of the way.

This course provides students with a solid foundation in 3D Fundamentals and challenges them to explore various creative specialisms, including Virtual Production, Concept Art, Compositing, Environment Art, 3D Animation, Motion Capture, and Character Art. Students can also attend industry networking events like EGX Rezzed and Vertex Conference.

Course Details

The 3D for Games and Film BA program offers a comprehensive curriculum focused on applied creativity and cutting-edge technology. The subjects covered include concept creation, animation fundamentals, 3D asset creation, virtual environments, virtual sets, motion capture and virtual production, studio practices, and industry workflows. Through lectures, workshops, and personal studies, students will develop employable skills in 3D asset creation, hand-keyed animation, motion capture, virtual production, visual effects, project management, and specialist skills for their chosen career. The program is taught in a hands-on "studio" style, with training and instruction in the morning and workshop activities in the afternoon. Daily reviews of students' achievements provide immediate feedback, similar to the daily reviews used in the industry. Assessment is 100% by coursework, with students completing two or three assignments in each module and following a brief to produce a practical outcome. This approach ensures that academic writing is directly relevant to the art work created, making it a valuable addition to any creative professional.
