Undergraduate

For admission onto the first year of an undergraduate degree, we accept the following:

§  West African Senior School Certificate (WAEC) with a pass grade overall and successful completion of a recognised foundation year recognised by the University of Hull.

§  Pass the Higher National Diploma with a minimum overall GPA of 2.0.

§  International Baccalaureate Diploma with a range of 28 – 30 International Baccalaureate Diploma with a range of 28 – 30

We also accept students who have completed a US high school curriculum.

We sometimes require subject specific grades depending on the course, we will advise you of this in your offer letter.

If you do not hold one of the qualifications above, we still encourage you to submit an application. All applications will be reviewed on an individual basis.

If you wish to study with us starting from the second or final year, we are happy to consider applicants who have completed equivalent prior study. These applications are considered on a case-by-case basis.

International Year One with ONCAMPUS Hull

This programme, run by our partner ONCAMPUS Hull, is designed for international students who do not quite meet the academic grades and/or English requirements for an undergraduate degree at the University of Hull, but have a stronger academic profile than a foundation year applicant.

Students who successfully complete the year are guaranteed progression to Year 2 of a range of Business, Engineering, and Life Sciences undergraduate degrees.

Postgraduate Taught

The majority of our postgraduate taught courses require a qualification equivalent to an upper second-class Bachelor's Honours (or 2.1). However some courses may differ, so please check our course course pages for specific entry requirements.

We generally consider a Bachelor's degree of a minimum of three years in duration, awarded by a nationally recognised higher education institution, comparable to a UK Bachelor's Honours degree.

Degree classification directly compares to that in the UK. We accept Lower Second Class Division in your Bachelor degree for programmes requiring 2.2 and Upper Second Class Division for programmes with 2.1 entry requirement. 

We also accept some pre-masters programmes, please contact global@hull.ac.uk to confirm if your programme is eligible.
