Founded in 1914 as a polytechnic institution, Staffordshire University received the University Status in 1992. It has earned an international repute for its vocational and academic teaching, innovative research, and student employability. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The seven schools include Digital, Technologies and Arts, Health and Social Care, Law, Policing and Forensics, Life Sciences and Education, School of Health, Science and Wellbeing and Staffordshire Business School.

Staffordshire University is spread across two campuses – The main city campus in the Stoke-on-Trent and Centre of Excellence in Stafford offering world class specialist healthcare education. Stoke-on-Trent has two sites - The campus on Leek Road site is home to law, business, sports spaces, and the Science Centre. Computing, creative arts and engineering facilities are housed in the College Road site campus.

Entry Requirements

As part of the application process, international students need to demonstrate their English language proficiency through a test recognised by Staffordshire University

Most of their courses require a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 overall with 5.5 in each component or an equivalent approved qualification. However, some courses have higher entry criteria due to accreditation requirements or the need to have exceptional communication skills as part of the course.

Accepted Tests and Qualifications 

The majority of undergraduate bachelor degree courses require a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0, with 5.5 in reading, writing, speaking and listening. However, the university also accepts a wide range of qualifications from around the world. The following qualifications are acceptable for most of the Bachelor degree courses.

GREAT Scholarships

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Staffordshire University are offering two scholarships - one to offer holders in India and one to offer holders in Malaysia applying for full time, postgraduate-taught courses for September 2021.

Alumni Discount

Staffordshire University alumni who graduated in the past two academic years receive a 25% reduction in their tuition fees. Alumni who graduated over two years ago receive a 10% reduction in their tuition fees.

Early Payment Discount

An early payment discount of £500 is applicable to on-campus students who pay their full fees before or at enrolment for 2021/22 entry.

Law Courses – Trinidad and Tobago

All applicants from Trinidad and Tobago are eligible for a £500 fee discount for the PgDip Legal Practice and the LLM Legal Practice Blended Learning courses. This reduction will automatically be deducted from your fees.
