You'll look at the role and purpose of education from both a national and global perspective, supported by expert academics with sector experience and a diverse cohort of fellow educational professionals.

When you graduate, you'll have the tools and skills to approach complex issues in education at an advanced level, preparing you for senior roles in educational policy and services, pedagogy, learning support or research. 

Entry Requirements

  • A minimum of a second-class honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 (or equivalent) with no component score below 6.0.

Career Prospects

This Master's in Education Studies equips students with a comprehensive understanding of education theory and practical application, policy, experience, and psychology. This equips them with the necessary research skills to take on senior roles in educational policy-making, pedagogy, leadership, mentorship, consultancy, research, or learning support. Graduates have gone on to roles such as education mental health practitioner, lecturer in education, and research assistant. Course Details

The Master's degree program offers a comprehensive, specialized education for those juggling work and family responsibilities. The course structure includes a one-year full-time study, which includes 6 hours of teaching time per week between September and December, and 3 hours per week from January to September. Additional lectures and one-to-one sessions with the supervisor are also provided to support dissertation research development.
Part-time study involves 3 hours of teaching time per week during the first year and until January of the second year, with additional lectures and one-to-one sessions with the supervisor. The last 3 months of the course are dedicated to dissertation research.
Master's study is deeper and more specialized than an undergraduate degree, requiring more independent study and research time. The majority of teaching time will be in-person and face-to-face. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, and tutorials. Assessments will be conducted through essays, presentations, poster presentations, blogs, and dissertation/research projects.
The course's expert teaching staff includes a variety of professionals who will provide guidance and support throughout the program. The course is designed to help students develop their skills and knowledge in a structured and structured manner, ensuring they can excel in their future careers.
