Animation Production MA

The Animation Design MA is part of the School of Art and Humanities MA Art & Design Suite, a postgraduate program that combines disciplines to create a collaborative program. Animation is at the forefront of storytelling, creating emotional connections with a global audience. The course aims to enhance students' knowledge, skills, and employment prospects in animation production. It teaches critical appraisal of social, ethical, technological, and cultural dimensions, advanced knowledge of animation production, and its applications in various fields. The course encourages pushing boundaries in animation practice, introducing students to various platforms and contexts, allowing them to experiment, expand, and communicate ideas through various forms and processes.

• Requires an Honours degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Alternative qualifications and significant experience may be accepted.
• International students with creative or practical subjects should submit a digital portfolio.
• Applicants are invited for an informal chat or considered for admittance via Skype.
• For non-English speakers, meet English Language qualification requirements.
• IELTS minimum is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5 or equivalent.

Animation is employed in a variety of sectors, making it an indispensable tool in many industries. Visually literate, innovative creative producers can excel in a variety of positions, including animators, motion designers, and marketing designers. Graduates of Art & Design have gone on to work in a variety of businesses, including animator at Tilt Amsterdam, concept artist at Finger businesses, and compositing supervisor at Brown Bag Films.
