The Master of Research in Digital Management is an innovative and research-led flagship programme crafted to provide you with the expertise needed to explore and address the challenges and opportunities presented by digital transformation in contemporary organisations. The programme offers a robust grounding in research methodology, with a particular emphasis on the strategic, organisational, and societal dimensions of digital technologies.

You will explore how digital tools, platforms, and data-driven practices are reshaping management thinking, business models, and organisational cultures. This pathway enables you to develop advanced research skills along with essential transferable abilities that are highly valued by employers, such as effective communication, quantitative reasoning, cross-cultural collaboration, reflective learning, and the capacity to critically evaluate complex management issues using established research methods.

Entry Requirements

An honours degree (at least 2:2 or equivalent) in business, management, or any other discipline that is related to artificial intelligence or digital management.

All students from non-majority English speaking countries require proof of English language proficiency. The following qualifications and grades will be considered:

  • Grade 4/C in English Language and Mathematics
  • IELTS 6.5 (with no less than 5.5 in any band)

Other English language tests are accepted by the University.

Career Prospects


Course Details

Your modules will be led by experts in research methods and design and digital management for business. The first year includes a combination of modules to enhance your knowledge and skills in various areas including Research in Action: Methodologies, Data Collection and Analytical Strategies, Essentials of Artificial Intelligence in Business and Digital Management and Digital Management in a Changing World: Innovation and Strategic Impact.

You will also start work on your research and studying these modules will help you to shape your proposal which will inform your major research project to be undertaken in year 2. This independent major research project will be supported by a team of supervisors and will develop your skills of researching digital management opportunities, challenges and solutions for organisations.

You will be taught through a varied programme of teaching and learning that includes small group discussions, practical workshops in computer labs, web-based learning, case study analysis and lectures. Sessions will be delivered by subject specialists as well as practitioners and consultants to provide a diverse perspective on the topics covered.

You will be assessed individually or in teams through a variety of assessment methods including written reports of various lengths, presentations, in-class tests and practical assignments. You will also be required to complete a longer research thesis for the research component of your programme.
