On graduation, you’ll be ready to begin or advance a high-flying career in finance and accounting, or a related business discipline, anywhere in the world.
The course aims to develop students as individuals who are well-equipped to meet potential management challenges of the future. They will, therefore, emerge from the course with well-developed skills of analysis, clear perspectives on financial strategy and strategic thinking, and highly effective communication and research skills, all of which are demanded by employers in the private, public, Accounting and Finance sectors.
This course is currently accredited by leading accountancy bodies including ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW, which means you should be well-prepared to sit exams to qualify as an accountant, and you may be exempt from certain some exams with ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW. Please note that this is subject to criteria and fees. See the Accreditation and Professional Recognition section for further information.
On successful completion, students should be well placed to pursue a wide variety of careers in finance, management, accounting, banking, personal and corporate finance and IT in private, public and third sector organisations.
Where our graduates work
The financial acumen, business skills and global outlook you’ll have begun to develop will be superb preparation for a career anywhere, in any professional or management role. Some of our graduates have joined ‘big four’ international accounting and consultancy firms. Others have gone into banking, investment, insurance, business, government or the charity sector, either in the UK or internationally.
You might decide to become an accountant and then to work within a private business or at a global accountancy firm. On the other hand, you could go into consultancy; specialise in taxation or financial analysis; become an independent financial advisor; or even start your own business.
